To mark the occasion, we’ve crafted a selection of bespoke dishes that showcase the exceptional cheeses produced by the Val di Fassa Social Dairy—true treasures of our local alpine tradition.
Perched at 2,000 meters with a heated panoramic veranda, Baita Checco never fails to captivate, thanks to its breathtaking natural amphitheater setting in Ciampedie and its refined gourmet cuisine that reinterprets local history and timeless mountain traditions.
The mastermind behind the restaurant's delectable creations is chef Matthias Trottner, widely regarded as one of the most talented in the valley. He began experimenting joyfully at the stove from a very young age, eventually turning his passion into a full-fledged profession.
His dishes feature ingredients that are frequently zero-mile and almost entirely sourced from Trentino. Each one is treated with meticulous attention, turning every bite into a harmonious symphony of flavours.
His recipes are a modern reinterpretation of his grandmother's classic dishes—the very first teacher who introduced him to the kitchen—while also drawing on dedicated study and daily practice in refining taste through a deep understanding of ingredients and their natural properties.
In addition to its sophisticated, refined dishes, the restaurant naturally features traditional local specialties such as canederli (dumplings), polenta, meats, and mushrooms. It also offers gluten-free options for celiacs, fresh salads, finger food, and a dedicated children's menu.
Reservations are recommended for lunch.

Easily reachable and just a short ride away: take the Catinaccio cable car from Vigo di Fassa or the chairlifts departing from Pera di Fassa—both bring you straight to our doorstep in comfort and style.
